Hastakshar — a signature, a promise.
In Hindi, hastakshar means signature — the one mark that is unmistakably yours. We named our label after it because we believe clothing should carry the same quality of care.
Made by hand, in small batches
We work with a small circle of ateliers and artisans across India. Each design is produced in limited runs so fabric isn't wasted and every piece gets the attention it deserves. Inside the hem of each garment you'll find a tiny stitched mark — our signature, and the maker's.
Fabric first
Organic cotton, pure linen, natural dyes and block prints. We choose fabric for how it feels after a long day, how it ages and how it washes, not only how it photographs.
Designed to be lived in
Relaxed, true-to-size fits and silhouettes that move between work, festivities and weekends. Fewer pieces, worn more often.
